Sogoni koun is a term referring to a small antelope head
carving that was part of the Tjiwara/Chiwara society. Sogoni
koun was an age-set based dance performance, it was one of
several masked performances of the wara droun (animal
children). They are often characterized by smaller and
sometimes more stylized antelope heads and abstract bodies
like this wonderful example.
