Sticks, as they are called, are shorter than staffs and were sometimes used by leaders as emblems of rank. The
face on this stick is carved with great attention to detail; I especially like the representation of the lips with the
fine ridge around the edges. The patina indicates that it was most commonly held at the point where it curves.
The curve on this stick is very unusual and one of the features that makes it really stand out.
