Small blades like this are miniature versions of Asante afena swords and were placed in shrines along with other types of objects which received kaolin coatings periodically as part of the veneration of the deceased person the shrine is in honor of.
Note: The plastic ring I used to stand the sword up on doesn’t display it very securely. I just used it to take photos of it.
