I state Luntu or Luluwa/Lulua figure because it had been identified as Luntu as it passed through the different hands it has gone through, but in my opinion it is Luluwa/Lulua. I saw this because of the red camwood powder residue on the figure and also because of the coiffuer that comes to a point which is typical of hairstyles of Luluwa/Lulua women. In any case it’s a simple but beautiful small figure with some decent age to it. It probably was a figure from the bwanga bwa cibola cult, a social association or "cult" that addresses issues of human fertility.
